Day 22-
Challenge:write your testimony and start keeping a journal.
Day 23-Think back on a time where you had to search for the Savior to find strength beyond your own.
I can think of several times on my mission when I was too weak or sick to move.I didn't thank him for the good days and then in 2011 I hit rock bottom.I couldn't get off the couch,I was sad always and I didn't know what was wrong.Because of my best friend and my husband I made it to a doctor who finally diagnosed me.Even now with reading my scriptures and paying more sincerely I am still stretching and finding my way back. This time of year is hard because of the weather so my depression tries to creep back in.So far though I am really asking for extra help and the Lord is right there.I can feel him! That is what happens when you rely on him who is mighty to save.I still have a long way to go!
In her book Emily challenges for that day to stretch again I have really been trying to read my scriptures everyday before I do anything else. The best has been when,(and I stress when I can get up)I wake up before the kids.
Day 24-I think I like this challenge the most so far.Try to discover ,"in every hour",some heavenly blessing that will bring you closer to Christ.
In November it is a month of gratitude. When December comes along it becomes more about gifts and buying the perfect gift.We spend our time at stores and parties.I love all of these things,by the way,I just want to keep my focus on the Savior and the children he has given me.Why not continue to notice your blessings and give of your heart and time.I have been enjoying our more Christ centered Christmas as we have dove in deeper about Mary and Joseph I feel like I am on the journey with them.I have been thinking on it over and over. What they must have went through. My mother was not able to bear children and and waited 7 years to adopt.Because of this treasure being a Mom and don't want to waste the time I have with them.
Each day might feel like you do the same thing each day.It is true that mothers of young kids do a lot for them. You wake up feed them, dress them and clean up.Then a few hours later it is the same thing. It may seem repetitious, however,we can look at it differently if we try. Here are 3 ways to recognize your blessings every day.
1.Fill your heart with gratitude. When you wake up pray for one more day,one more step or leap and opportunity to be closer to him.
2.Take little steps each day to be more Christ like.Pick an attribute or habit and pay to accomplish it.
3.At the end of your day look at your success and what may also need some adjustment.
As you do these 3 things with daily scripture study and prayer you will be able to be closer to him and feel his influence in your life hour by hour.

Day 6-25 days to a more Christ centered Christmas countdown
Scripture:Mosiah 3:5,8
5 For behold, the time cometh, and is not far distant, that with power, the Lord Omnipotent who reigneth, who was, and is from all eternity to all eternity, shall come down from heaven among the children of men, and shall dwell in a tabernacle of clay, and shall go forth amongst men, working mighty miracles, such as healing the sick, raising the dead, causing the lame to walk, the blind to receive their sight, and the deaf to hear, and curing all manner of diseases.
8 And he shall be called Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Father of heaven and earth, the Creator of all things from the beginning; and his mother shall be called Mary.
The kids wanted to hide Mary and Joseph again so we did. Also everyone has got a turn or two with service and leaving the baby Jesus at the scene.see Family service

Take back your Turf Thursday-December must do's.How to wrap up December in a stress free package.
Let's wrap it up!How to wrap this December in a stress free package!
The Grinch said it best:
The Grinch: It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes, or bags.
Narrator: The the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before.
The Grinch: Maybe Christmas doesn't come from a store. Maybe Christmas...
Narrator: He thought
The Grinch: ...means a little bit more.
(From the movie The Grinch)
First let me start off by saying it is fun to wrap gifts and anticipate the look on someones face when they open a gift from you.To enjoy the holiday more fully if you get your shopping done early you will have more time to enjoy this time off year.If you haven't decorated yet now is the time!We have been running around lately trying to get gifts that have to be sent out bought and wrapped!
Send out Christmas cards if you haven't already.
Speaking of wrapped make sure you are wrapping your skin in moisturizer. My hands are dry everyday. When you are cooking just add a little olive oil to your hands and you are good to go.Your lips need moisturizer too!Don't forget to wrap yourself in a blanket and watch your favorite movies.
If the kids are bored have them make their own presents and wrapping paper.
Check out 25-things-to-wrap-a-present-with-besides-wrapping-paper
Here are fun ways to wrap a scarf around your neck.
Don't get too wrapped up in the hustle and bustle this time of year, to make memories and relax. The holidays go way too fast.Take a break at least once a week.Slow down.
Make a bucket list of everything you want ti do in December with kids and/or parties.
Stock up on ice melt so you don't have to wrap someones broken body after slipping on the ice.
Wrap up extra pies and casseroles and store in the freezer if you will be having a party. This will save you time when you are frazzled later on!
Wrap yourself in the joy of service. It is a great time of year to help others.
Wrap up your December with a good long look at this year and start to think of resolutions for the upcoming year.
Well folks that's a wrap.Sorry one more,I couldn't help myself.:) Hope this helps and Merry Christmas!

Day 5-25 days to a more Christ centered Christmas
Scripture:I decided to read Matthew 1:19,20 again but this time we discussed just on Joseph. How he must have felt to find out his betrothed was expecting a child. It must have been comforting to recieve comfort in a dream. He was a very good man.
We talked about how far of a journey it was to Bethlehem. We removed everyone from the nativity set and I hid Mary and Joseph and had the kids find them and then each of them got a chance to hide them.I got this idea from here
Song:When Joseph went to Bethlehem

(Tune: I'm a Little Teapot)
I'm a great big snowman,
Tall and fat.

Raisins for my eyes,
And a carrot nose,
I'm all snow
from head to toe!
Story time:Word bird's winter words
Music and movement
Once there was a snowman,
Snowman
Snowman.
Once there was a snowman
Tall, tall, tall.(raise hands above head each time you say tall)
In the snow he melted,(start to melt, moving body down)
Melted,melted.
In the snow he meted small small small (by the last small should be to the ground)
Snowey Pokey
You put your right mitten in, You take your right mitten out,
You put your right mitten in and you shake it all about.
You do the Snowey pokey and you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about.
Note continue with additional verses:
You put your left mitten in
You put your scarf in
You put your right boot in
You put your left boot in
You put your hat in
You put your snowself in
etc
Snack:Check out our snow(whip cream)on top of yogurt. My Preschooler loved getting the bear stuck in the snow.We talked about bears and hibernation.I wish I could hibernate.I hate the cold!brrrrrr!
For baby- 9 months and older:We are still working on our signs.Milk,more,done,cat,dog.This week we are going to add snow.I got out bowls and spoons and in it I put cotton balls and pine cones. We used the word soft, rough, bowl and spoon.
The boys are making dinner together.
We talked about ice and crystals so we took a magnifying glass to look at the snow more closely.
Then the boys played with the snow. The baby didn't really know what to think. That is,until the snow melted;then he splashed in it.We stuck the pine cones in as trees.
Here we are making homes.
The animals like their new homes!Even though the zebra and Lion live in a non snowy climate.

Day 4-25 days to a more Christ centered Christmas countdown
Tonight we talked of Mary. This year especially I have really felt like my kids and I need to be reminded that Mary must have gone through a lot with having a baby and not being married. What an amazing righteous woman to put so much trust and faith in the Lord! How pure her heart must have been.In Luke 1:46-55 she gives a beautiful psalms of praise to God.I want to know her and I want to be a Mom with her qualities. I plan on studying her more and the story of Abraham and Isaac.
Scripture:1 Nephi 11:13-20
Song: Mary's Lullaby
We had snow ice cream, because Mary was pure like snow.Yes it was made from snow, condensed milk and vanilla! We added some chocolate syrup and it was so good!I was amazed at how it looked like ice cream after you poured it on the snow.Just one can and add vanilla to taste.Don't know who came up with this but I would love to give them credit. It takes the sting out of it snowing and being so cold!
