N is for noses....on pumpkins?

Scripture:Mathew22:37-39
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38 This is the first and great commandment.

39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt Love thy neighbour as thyself.

Wis for wiggle. Can you  wiggle your toes, fingers, arm, legs, tummy, ears and nose?

Noses
What do we need noses for?Smell.Look at a book of animals and point out where thier noses are.A dog has an amazing sense of smell. It can smell things that have come and gone.
Nursery Ryhme: 5 little pumpkins.
Five Little Pumpkins

Five little pumpkins sitting on the gate. (Hold up 5 fingers.)
The first one said, “Oh, my it’s getting late.” (Hold up thumb.)
The second one said, “There are witches in the air.” (Hold up index finger.)
The third one said, “But I don’t care.” (Hold up middle finger.)
The fourth one said, “Let’s run and run and run.” (Hold up ring finger.)
The fifth one said, “I’m ready for some fun.” (Hold up pinky.)
Ooooo! Went the wind, and out went the light. (Blow through hands, then clap.)
And the five little pumpkins rolled out of sight! (Roll hands behind back.)

Draw 5 pumpkins and have kids glue precut shapes to make 5 different noses.Show examples. For baby:Make puppet out of pumpkins made and gloves.

Next we went outside to see what we could smell. It has been raining so it had that after rain smell.

Ears
Let's talk quiet like a whisper, shout, talk normal, sing loud! How do we hear? Sound from your voice travelled down the little tube and caused the ear drum to vibrate. The ear drum caused the hammer, anvil and stirrup to vibrate and the little nerves in your ear took the sound to their brain to tell them what they heard.
Talk about how to protect our ears.

What's that sound listening game.
What makes this sound?Play various recordings. Also you can use objects in your house but the kids have to shut thier eyes. You can do things like open and shut a door, beep a microwave, knock on the wall, click your tongue.See if baby will copy that.

Snack time:Have kids guess if certain foods will be quiet or loud.

We of course had the talk of there is a time to be quiet and a time to be loud.Next time at the grocery store what voice will be used?Quiet or loud? :)
