Experiment upon the word for Family night using candy

We did a family night where we did an experiment with candy and baking soda to show what happens when you plant the seed of faith in your heart.seeExperiment upon the word
Scripture:Alma 32:21 and 22
 21 And now as I said concerning faith—faith is not to have a perfect knowledge of things; therefore if ye have faith ye hope for things which are not seen, which are true.

 22 And now, behold, I say unto you, and I would that ye should remember, that God is merciful unto all who believe on his name; therefore he desireth, in the first place, that ye should believe, yea, even on his word.

There is special knowledge that comes when we exercise faith and seek to live the gospel.
Test tubes=us
When we act upon our beliefs with faith,
Faith=candy

the Spirit touches our heart and mind.
Spirit=baking soda

Reaction~(bubbled)We receive a spiritual witness from the Holy Ghost that enables us to say “we know” that Christ is our Savior and that the Church is true.

The kids had a lot of fun.My oldest is a good evil scientist!After the demonstration I let them do thier own experiments.It is also a great way to  use up all the extra candy!
